How to Create Your First Web Site?
I hope you have already started receiving targeted traffic to your affiliate programs using the methods that we've covered so far: posting to forums and article writing. Congratulations on your progress!
As promised in my previous newsletter, today I'll provide you with the information you need to build your first simple web site.
Remember that you need a web site to build an e-mail list! That's why building your own website is so important. There's money in the list. Heard that saying? Believe me, it's true!
Please ignore this e-mail if you are an experienced webmaster and know how to create effective web sites and get them online. I promise there'll be something for you in the next newsletter.
If you don't have your own web site yet, read this newsletter carefully and remember to save it for future reference. Then start building your first web site today – in the next few issues you will learn other web site marketing methods that you can use to increase the traffic to your site. (Remember that so far we've learned the importance of forum posting and article writing).
Are you ready? First, you'll need to learn a little bit about HTML. This is the language that is used to create web pages. Don't worry, you'll only need to learn the basics. And it's a must! While you can use software to create web pages, a basic understanding of the basics of HTML is essential!

Be sure to read at least three sections of my HTML tutorial carefully.
Now, open your favorite text editor, notepad for example, and create your first HTML page using the examples from the tutorial. Save the file to your computer with the *.html extension.
Now open it with your web browser. It's looking good?!
Next, add more text to your page, and format it using headings, paragraphs and so on. Try to add a few links too.
Now try to create a web page related to your niche with a form to allow visitors to subscribe to your list. You can use my home page as a template:

As you can see, my home page is very simple. No fancy graphics, no flash or banners. Only text. Believe me, this is all that you need to get your message across.
Remember, graphics don't sell, WORDS do! That's why I want you to write a lot of articles. Learning to write powerful web copy is one of the most valuable tools you will need.
Now you are ready to publish your website online! To do this, you'll need to register a domain name and find a web host.

If you're not ready to spend any money just yet, try a Google search for "free web hosting". You should find some good free web hosts. This is a good place to start, but I strongly recommend you to upgrade your hosting account to a more reliable hosting service as soon as you start making money online.
Next, you'll need to transfer your HTML document to your web server. Most of the web hosting companies will allow you to do this from your hosting account administration area. If not, you'll need to use an FTP program.
Again, try to do a search online for a free option of FTP if you don't want to spend any money just yet.
Once you've transferred your HTML page to your web host (and your domain has propagated), you'll be able see your web page using your Internet browser.
Congratulations! You're online!
What else do you need to start collecting the e-mail addresses of your web site visitors?
